Entry requirements

Both minimum academic and English language entry requirements must be met in order to gain admission into QUT courses.

Academic requirements
For undergraduate degrees - Entry to undergraduate courses will be assessed based on your secondary school results, either Australian Year 12 or an equivalent qualification from your home country, for example, A levels.

For postgraduate degrees - Entry to postgraduate courses will be assessed based on an Australian undergraduate degree, or an equivalent degree from a recognised overseas institution.  Some postgraduate degrees may also require work experience, for example, students enrolling in QUT’s MBA program must have a minimum of two years’ work experience.

For research degrees - For students interested in a research degree, QUT offers Masters by Research, Professional Doctorates, and PhDs.  Entry usually requires an honours year of study or an equivalent postgraduate qualification.  You can obtain information on QUT’s research strengths to help identify areas that complement your study interests on the QUT website at http://www.qut.edu.au/research/areas/resintcent.jsp.  Advice is also available to help you apply for your research program and prepare a research proposal.

What if I do not meet the entry requirements?

If you do not meet the academic or English language requirements, you may be eligible for entry to a QUT pathway program. Please contact QUT at qut.international@qut.edu.au for further information about pathway options.
