Tuition Fee Payment

You first tuition fee payment is due when you accept your offer. Here we show how we calculate your first payment.

International student fees include tuition costs and all international student support costs including airport reception (except for English Language Program students), accommodation service and English language support. Although tuition fees are exempt from the Goods and Services Tax (GST), some support services may be subject to this 10% tax.

Tuition Fees do not cover stationery, textbooks, Student Guild Fees, food, accommodation or transportation.

Tuition fees for award courses will be charged at the published annual rate on a pro rata basis (the relevant rate per credit point) according to the enrolled course load. It is a condition of the offer that commencing students pay the standard semester fee, as stated in the offer letter, in order to accept their offer. The exception is Study Abroad which is charged on a flat semester fee and English Language programs which are charged on a weekly basis.

First payments are calculated as follows:

One semester of course fee

ELP followed by a second course (where admission to the second course requires you to achieve a specific English language test score)

Full ELP fee + AUD$100 registration fee + AUD$247 airport reception and accommodation placement fee + 10% deposit for the second course.

ELP followed by a second course (where admission to the second course does not require you to achieve an English language test score)

Full ELP fee + AUD$100 registration fee + AUD$247 airport reception and accommodation placement fee + one semester of your second course fee.

If you wish to include payment of your Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) through Medibank Private (QUT’s preferred provider), you need to include the appropriate amount in your payment.

Changes to tuition fees
QUT’s International Student Tuition Fee Policy will change from January 2008.  Please read QUT’s fee and refund policy before applying to study at QUT. Fees may increase annually. After you commence your course, you will receive a Statement of Account for your tuition fees  between 4-5 weeks prior to the start of the next  teaching period.   A schedule of publication of statement dates is available from: http://www.studentservices.qut.edu.au/costs/pay/when.jsp
