When can I advertise a new course?

No offers can be made for new programs before they have been issued with a CRICOS code. An application is made by SBS for a new CRICOS code when a course has received final Council or Executive approval.

What information relevant to the ESOS Act and the National Code must be included in faculty brochures?

Any material that is used in promotional activities where international students are involved must include the following information:

  • the QUT institutional CRICOS code: 00213J
  • Minimum level of English proficiency for entry to programs
  • Duration of the course
  • Cost of the course
  • General description of facilities
  • Disclaimer and date of printing.

What type of courses are covered by the ESOS Act?

Only courses that are available in full-time mode can be registered with CRICOS to offer to international students. This does not include courses offered in part-time external mode or off-shore programs.
