Bachelor of Biotechnology
"I chose QUT as it has the only course I could find that offers a combination of science and business. The multidiscipline course has given me the knowledge to work in the research, development, commercialisation, management and marketing of biological products and processes. And with the added advantage of an accelerated three year Honours program I can start my career sooner."

| Gaurav Jaggi
Bachelor of Biotechnology Innovation (Hons)
Gaurav currently works at the prestigious Medical Research Council (MRC), a UK national organization. The council promotes research into all areas of medical and related science with the aim of improving the health and quality of human life. It has also produced 22 Nobel Laureates.
“The degree offered by QUT provided a much broader spectrum of knowledge in biotechnology than any other degree at that time. This unique degree was designed to provide an understading about different issues involved in biotechnologhy such as IP issues and other issues involved with managing business in biotechnology, on top of providing a good base grounding in science. Overall, it provided me more skills in less time. QUT education is more practically tailored to a real world scenario. Not to forget the beautiful gardens and the city atmosphere at the Gardens Point campus.”

"The honours year at QUT has given me excellent research skills
and ensured that our research student group can perform at a very high
level and compete with other “big name” international universities.
The science faculty is a breeding ground for new academics and provides

and always has time for me."

Josephine Duigu (Papua New Guinea)
Master of Applied Science (Research)
"QUT lives up to its reputation as a university for the real
world, with a significant amount of practical work in the curriculum.
The classes I was recommended by QUT staff have been helpful in my aerosol
research. I chose Brisbane because I like the climate here and it's not
"big and busy" so I don't feel overwhelmed."

Yunfei Xi (China)
PhD (Chemistry)
"I chose to study at QUT because my current supervisor is very
famous in my research area. I am currently researching synthesis, characterisation
and application of organo-clay for oil spill cleanup. The assistance QUT
has given me during my PhD is practical and industry focused and I feel
confident that I will find my ideal job after I graduate. International
student services have been especially helpful in finding me convenient
accommodation when I arrived at QUT."

Our department has its own computer lab for postgraduate students with
many facilities such as copying and binding. I feel I have got tremendous
